Therapies
This
page descibes the way suggestion hypnotherapy, hypnoanalysis
NLP and EFT are used in Bristol and Bath to assist people
to quickly and effectively free themselves from the limitations
or restrictions they currently experience.
SuggestionTherapy
This form of therapy is the best known use of hypnosis.
It makes use of the heightened susceptibility to beneficial
suggestions in order to change bad habits for good ones,
and to build confidence. It is known especially for its
high success rate in helping people to change eating habits
and so lose weight, and in assisting people with pre-test
or business presentation nervousness and so on.
Suggestion therapy has been criticised for dealing only
with the symptoms and not with the cause. For this reason
it is recommended only for the problems mentioned above.
This type of therapy usually only requires one session with
me, and reinforcing sessions with a back-up tape for use
at your own convenience over the first four weeks. If, however,
a booster session is needed, then it would be charged at
half-fee rate, if taken within three months
Analytical Therapy(regression)
Without doubt this is the Rolls Royce of therapies,
Many therapies offer coping strategies or elaborate suggestion
work, this process addresses and removes the cause. With
others the symptoms can return, in the same or a different
form, if analysis is completed successfully you can be sure
those problems are gone, permanently.
Hypno-analysis
as it is sometimes known, can be summarised briefly as the
doctrine of cause and effect - every symptom must have a
cause. Hypno-analysis reveals and thus removes the cause
and consequently relieves the symptom.
This process uses the state of hypnosis to aid the recall
of past events, in their entirety. The use of such a process
for the relief of nervous conditions was started some three
quarters of a century ago, and has helped countless people
since that time. A past emotionally important event may
be hidden from the conscious mind, but is linked with a
'protective' pattern of behaviour, such as a phobia. By
enabling past events to be re-examined and the emotion released,
those patterns of behaviour which are no longer appropriate,
the symptoms, cease.
It can also be said that people undergoing the analytical
process find it enjoyable and quite fascinating as a route
to greater self-knowledge and a true insight into the dynamics
that have shaped their lives..
Certain problems respond particularly well to Hypno-analysis,
recent successful cases include Phobias (Agoraphobia, claustrophobia
etc.), Migraine, Anxiety and Panic Attacks, Sexual Problems,
Bulimia, and Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Another interesting
case was one where a woman wanted to gain a full memory
of her mother who hd died when she was ten years old. Her
mind had blocked out all memory of her mother, but through
this process we reached a memory of her coming home from
school and seeing her mother in the garden ... from then
on a range of memories of conversations, and shared events
came to the fore.
This therapy usually takes up to ten weekly sessions of
50 minutes each. This is totally individual and confidential.
Whilst benefits are felt during therapy, problems tend to
be resolved in one or a series of experiences towards the
end.
Other Therapeutic Methods
NLPand Visualisation techniques
may well be employed as and when it is advisable in order
to gain a successful outcome conclusion for the client.
This can be especially useful in preparing someone for a
one off event, such as an interview, a sporting competition,
speaking in public, decision making and even getting married!
However,
such techniques will always be discussed and agreed fully
with the client, prior to their use.
